late June 2014 update

By: | Tags: | Comments: 1

Windy weather over the last month hasn’t helped the fishing. It also seems this year the annual mackerel migration has somewhat bypassed Koh Tao. Catches have been significantly lower than usual, hopefully this will change after the wind drops off. Further offshore mahi are biting fairly well, but it’s a good 90 minutes or more to run out to the area so calm weather is a must.
I will do dry docking at some stage in the next couple of months, which will take a week or so for annual recaulking and antifouling. Apologies if that coincides with anybodies preferred dates
Here is a pic of Julia from Germany that put the hurts on this lovely 8kg bull Mahi. Caught on livebait slow trolling around South West pinnacle.

I will be travelling to Koh Tao on the 10 of this month and I would like to go for game fishing. How the season now? I love the picture with the Mahi-mahi, is there any nowadays?

Looking forward to hearing your comments.
    thanks and best regards
